Holy Spirit Parish Stewardship Program

Holy Spirit Parish embarked on a Stewardship Program in February and March 2016. This is a warm welcome to all parishioners and school families to become active participants in a dynamic, caring and valued community. We are proud of our Parish, and want it to remain strong and vibrant. Please join us, become more involved, more engaged and make a difference.

RCIA candidates welcomed into the Holy Spirit Parish community

The team and candidates meet weekly for about 90 minutes and explore a particular subject or topic which plays an important role in the life of the Catholic Church. There is usually ample time for general discussion and reflection and questions are always most welcome. Weekly attendance is encouraged, but if a candidate is unable to make it on any particular week, they can still read the subject matter from the provided book.

Parish Pastoral Council Renewal

This initiative to boost PPC representation has had the benefit of improving communication between the PPC and the various groups. It has also helped the PPC gain a better appreciation of the groups. However, because the representatives from those groups are already significantly involved in their own group, the PPC has been reluctant to assign them portfolio responsibilities.

Year of Mercy: 2015 - 2016

To welcome the Jubilee, Pope Francis will open the holy door of St Peter’s, with holy doors of the other papal basilicas to follow. As a sign of communion of the whole Church, the pope has requested that every diocese in the world open a similar “door of mercy” for the local celebrations of the Jubilee.

Holy Spirit Remembrance

9th October 2015

Holy Spirit maintains a photographic memorial of past parishioners and close friends for whom we have held funerals in our church. This memorial can be located in the church foyer and at the back of the church. It has been established from funeral booklets that have been made available to us.

Fete Results - 2015

Holy Spirit Fete 2015 continued a strong run of successes for Church/School Community and it's amazing Fete Commitee.

There were lots of congratulations, pride and relief when it was all over, but most would agree that Yvette Collin's summary and thank you message that she gave us at Mass the next day was the best. She was kind enough to share it with us here.

Thanks Yvette.

Lawry Cecconello - Camino 2015

As some of you may know, I completed a ‘Camino’ earlier this year, so I thought I would share with you some of the experiences and reflections that came out of that month long walking journey.

Trivia Night

Trivia Night

It had been a long time since we'd had a Holy Spirit Social function. We were due and everyone wanted to be there. Ticket sales of 190 promised that it would be a pretty social event. As it turned it we had another 26 walk ups making for 216 people on the night including our much loved Father Mogg. (Father forced a revised adjudication on biblical questions. Our quiz master, Joe Konynenburg, had the good sense to concede that one, but did not again to anyone else),
