The Way, the Truth and the Life

As Christians we view life as a pilgrimage to the house of the Father. Jesus describes himself as leading the way to God the Father. It’s a rough passageway through the turmoils of this world, with certain sacrifices, sufferings and grief. Jesus travelled it and to negotiate it properly we need His guidance. He is the way, the truth and the life.

In every trial of life He is the person who helps us make that leap of faith which points us to our destination. When in the anxiety of the present moment our focus narrows to the problems and the lists becomes endless. However desperate our situation, faith in Jesus will break the grip of our worries. When we find the space and time each day to experience the presence of God in prayer, which is now, we can look with understanding at the past and with hope and confidence to the future. Then we will begin to know the peace and joy He meant us to have when he said 'let not your hearts be troubled.'

Mothers’ Day weekend is set to be a special day for our mothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and carers with a mothering role. Despite the coronavirus restrictions, we can take a moment and reflect on our mothers and thank God for the gift of life and love. We are indebted to our mothers who not only birthed us but lead us by their life of sacrifice. Aside from our relationship with God, the relationship we have with our mother is likely the most important and powerful relationship we’ll ever have on earth.

Happy Mothers’ Day! God bless you!

Keep smiling and stay safe!
