Wishing you a Happy Easter
Wednesday 3rd May 2017
Easter Greetings to you all as we celebrate Christ’s rising, the root of our faith, which impels us to join the joyful alleluias of Paschal joy – Alleluia, He is risen!
In this setting of vibrant jubilation we hear Jesus greeting each of us “Peace be with you!” This same peace of our Risen Saviour awaits people of our own day
“It is not a negotiated peace, nor is it the absence of conflict; it is His peace, the peace that comes from the heart of the Risen Lord, the peace that has defeated sin, fear and death. It is a peace that unites us, a peace that does not abandon us but makes us feel listened to and loved, it is a peace that persists even in pain and enables hope to blossom.”
-- Pope Francis
“Peace be with you!” With that He breathed on them…This breath of life that God breathed into man’s nostrils at creation, in the same way our Risen Lord and Redeemer breathes the new life of Easter into us, His disciples. “See, I make all things new….”
-- Rev. 21:5
In our days we see before us a humanity that lives in anguish and fear, a humanity that bears the scars of pain and uncertainty and we hear Jesus’ inspiring invitation: “Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, even so, I send you.” He calls us to be bearers of His peace. Isn’t this the mission entrusted to the Church on Easter? What about us? Christ wishes to enter into each one of us, to break open the locked doors of our hearts. He wishes to throw open our closed doors and send us out.
We ask the Risen Christ to fill each of you with His deep joy and blessings of Peace.
A blessed Easter to each of you!
I wish you all a Holy and Grace-filled Season of Lent!
